Import and review job architecture

Use job architecture import when People Ops needs Cadence to carry role families, levels, competencies, career paths, and assignments as operating context.

Before you start

  • Confirm you are an Admin.
  • Prepare the CSV with one row per role/level/competency assignment.
  • Keep source HRIS records available for reconciliation.
  • Do not include medical, investigation, or free-form performance notes in the import.

Import the file

  1. Open Admin.
  2. Select Job Architecture.
  3. Choose Import CSV.
  4. Upload the prepared file.
  5. Review validation errors before committing the import.
  6. Commit only after families, levels, competencies, and assignments line up with the source record.

Review after import

  • Open the imported job family and confirm level names, grades, scope, and competencies.
  • Spot-check at least one assigned employee per family.
  • Confirm calibration and manager views show the expected role context after reload.
  • Correct bad source data in the source file, then re-import; do not manually patch multiple rows from memory.
