Manage an ER case
ER case work should be confidential, evidence-based, and procedurally consistent.
Open a case
- Confirm you have HR/Admin access.
- Open ER Cases.
- Create a case and select the case type.
- Add the employee, owner, severity, and summary.
- Save the case.
- Reload and confirm the case appears with the correct status.
Add notes and status
- Add timestamped notes for material updates.
- Keep notes factual and relevant to the case.
- Update status when ownership, escalation, or next action changes.
- Attach or reference supporting material according to company policy.
Close or escalate
- Close only after the resolution and follow-up are documented.
- Escalate when the case requires higher review or legal/People Ops involvement.
- Use the case record as the source of truth for ER workflow state.
Boundary
Do not put ER investigation details in shared 1:1 notes or recognition records.
